HAPPY STRINGS QUARTET was founded in 2007 by members of Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina and it is unusual in using doublebass of violoncello. Repertoir is specialised for popular music but it includes classical pieces too. Quartet has performed at various events organised by citie Žilina at verrnissages and social events. Happy strings played concerts in many slovak cities as well as concerts for children. Members of the quartet are skilled orchestral players who performed in many countries of Europe, in USA, in Japan, Brasil and Canada. All of them are skilled chamber players too. They are members of chamber orchestra Archi di Slovakia.

Radovan VARGA (b. 1973) was born in Zvolen. He studied violin with L. Kudja at Conservatory in Žilina. He extended his skills like a member of European Youth Orchestra under the leading of Yehudi Menuhin. Radovan Varga has become member of Slovak Sinfonietta in 1993. In 1994 he performed in well-known Travniček quartet as a second violinist.

Slavomír GLOS (b. 1978) was born in Prievidza. He studied violin with M. Balážová at conservatory in Žilina. He graduated his studies at University of Žilina in 2006. In 1999 he has become a member of Slovak Sinfonietta. Slavomír Glos is very keen for singing and conducting as well. He was leader of vocal group Cosmopolitan singers and he cooperates in creating of cinema and theater music as well as in various artistic projects.

Marek PUKL (b. 1971) was born in Košice. He studied viola with J. Kýška and V. Lipatová. In 1988 he gained 1st prize at competition of Slovak Conservatories and it opened his professional performing. In 1991-1992 he performed in J. Záborský theater in Prešov. Since 1994 he has become a member of Slovak Sinfonietta.

Michal KVITKOVSKÝ (b. 1970) comes from Košice. He studied there doublebass with V. Velíšek and T. Trna. In 2009 he graduated Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica with J. Krigovský. He performed in a few orchestras and chamber groups. In 1990-1994 he was a member of State Philharmonic Orchestra in Košice and he cooperated with Bratislava Chamber Soloists for a few years. Since 1994 hes has been 1. doublebass player in Slovak Sinfonietta.
