The initial composition of this concert will commemorate the death, twenty-five years ago, of Slovak composer Tibor Frešo. The second, by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, who is considered the most important tango composer of the second half of the 20th century, and who was the creator of a style called “nuevo (new) tango”, which incorporates the elements of jazz and classical music. The composer Ariel Ramirez practiced a traditional musical culture which contains the elements of Argentine folk music and dance. Soloists for this interesting evening will be the Argentine soprano Ana Carolina Diz and accordion virtuoso Michael Červienka, who is known from the popular television contest “Slovakia má talent (Slovakia Has Talent 2008), which showed that the accordion can play in a way that the audience literally finds "breathtaking". Wielding the baton will be Spanish conductor David Hernando Rico, whom the Žilina audience already knows from his recent performance of the Palmieri “Tango Mass" which met with extraordinary success. This program will include the “Creole Mass” which has been performed around the world by the famous Spanish tenor Jose Carreras.
